a thank you letter to the boy who didn’t treat me right,
thank you for teaching me a very valuable lesson. thank you for making me realize how beautiful, deserving, and lovable i am. these realizations of course were not because you made me feel these things (don’t flatter yourself) but because i came out of this relationship with a much deeper understanding of just how valuable i really am. how dare you make me feel inadequate, not worthy of being loved, and unsure of myself. im not sure i will ever understand how a human can be so cruel to another the way that you were with me, but i am at peace with it now. i am coming to terms with all that has happened, and i am ready now more than ever to close this chapter and rid myself of you completely. i will no longer let your words or actions stain me the way i let them before.

I just realised why I’ve been feeling so down lately: it’s because I’m not a superhero. Or to be more exact there are so many things I really want to do and I just can’t do it all, especially not at once.⠀

🌟I have dreams and goals to achieve.⠀
🌟I have family and friends I want to spend time with.⠀
🌟I wanna do good in school.⠀
🌟I want to workout and make my body strong and injury-free again.⠀
🌟I wanna create things for my blog.⠀
🌟I wanna be a good girlfriend.⠀

But I can’t do it. Not all at once.⠀
Not with a body and mind that’s kinda broken. Even with perfect health, it would still be a struggle.⠀

There’s a fine line between striving for improvement and striving for perfection. One makes you better. The other paralyses you.⠀

I’m writing this for myself as well as you who struggle with these issues. Who thinks you’re alone and romanticise other people, see them as superheroes. Who thinks you’re not good enough.⠀

Here’s what I want to tell you: It’s okay not to make progress every day. Some days you gotta just take care of yourself and your basic needs, nothing else. Allow yourself to breathe. Allow yourself to grow at whatever pace you do.⠀
